Yangon, Myanmar, 24 June 2024 -- A three-week course on Basics of Social Communications given by Fr. Andrea Maung Maung SDB, was organized by the Executive Committee of MIRS (Myanmar Institute of Religious Studies) from 3-22 June 2024 at the headquarters of CRCM (Catholic Religious Conference of Myanmar) in Yangon city. 22 nuns and postulants from different religious congregations joined the course.

The course covered all aspects of social communication, from intrapersonal communication to digital communication. The course also offered some basic practical skills such as news report writing, public speaking skills, mobile photography, and basic video editing. The climax of the course was the sharing of the individuals’ vocational stories before the class as the practice of public speaking skills. All the sharings were recorded with the phone camera for the purpose of uploading them on social media platforms.

Since the course is necessary and relevant to the Church’s mission today, all the participants were seriously engaged and made great efforts in all the sessions.
