Hua Hin, Thailand, 4 June 2024 -- From 31 May - 2 June 2024, 90 members of the Salesian Cooperators held their annual spiritual retreat and seminar at the Salesian Retreat House - Huahin, Prachuabkhirakhan Province. The theme of the annual strenna was taken up “The dream that makes you dream”... A heart that transforms “wolves” into “lambs”. The spiritual exercises were animated by Fr. Anthony Boonlert Paneetatthayasai, the Provincial.
The retreat began in the evening of 31 May 2024 with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist officiated by Fr. Peter Niphon Sarachit, SDB, the SDB delegate for the Salesian Cooperators SDB. On the spiritual renewal talks of 1 June 2024, the animator led the cooperators to meditate on the dream of St. John Bosco at nine years old. The members were requested to examine their lives as Salesian Cooperators, which included the motivations that led them to decide to be Cooperators. They were coached to go back to their past experiences - what God taught them and what they wanted to say to the Lord. The reflection and the sharing of experiences among the members created the strength to move forward as the true disciples of Don Bosco for the young.
During this spiritual retreat, the members had occasions to strengthen their piety through praying 'The Stations of the Cross', the reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and participation in the Holy Mass, which were well-prepared.
On 2 June 2024, During the celebration of the Holy Mass, the 14 new members made their solemn promise, and all the other members renewed their promise in the presence of Fr. Anthony Boonlert Paneetatthayasai, the Provincial.
Now, we have 188 Salesian Cooperators in the Thai province. Mrs. Navaporn Kitsawat is the coordinator. Fr. Peter Niphon Sarachit is the SDB delegate for the Salesian Cooperators, while Sr. Maria Suphawan Chotiphon is the FMA delegate.
