Yamanaka, Japan, 4 June 2024 -- The Japanese Province commenced its 2024 Provincial Chapter at the Retreat House of the Salesian Sisters in Yamanaka on 2 June 2024. It will continue until 6 June. Under the theme “Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people,” the Chapter delved into the documents from General Chapter 29, focusing on three core issues: (1) Animation and care of the real life of every Salesian, (2) Salesians, Salesian Family, and lay people together with and for young people, and (3) Governance of the Congregation, culminating in discussions on the province's re-shaping.
The Chapter commenced with Eucharistic Adoration presided over by Fr. Hamaguchi Hideaki, SDB, Provincial Superior, in the presence of 25 participants, including provincial council members, rectors of local houses, community delegates, elected province representatives, and the secretarial team.
