Sumba – Indonesia, 21 May 2024 -- From 14 – 19 May 2024 the Don Bosco Sumba Salesian Community held a 3rd stage formation workshop for pre-novices and aspirants. The speakers for this activity were Father Vincentius Prastowo SDB and Father Adie Prinanto SDB. The priests gave their material alternately with different themes. There are several important points that are very necessary and given special attention here, including that a candidate know his personality better, know that God is calling him and he is able to answer with concrete actions. Then it ends with strengthening good attitudes and reflection in carrying out the calling process.
Knowing oneself may not be easy for a candidate, but it is this self-knowledge that enables him to progress in the formation of his vocation to become a Salesian so that by knowing his own personality he is also able to recognize the personality of each young person in his apostolic work so that he can deal with problems faced by young people.
As Father Vincetius Prastowo said, "Before going through a long process, it is necessary to know oneself and others, especially those prioritized by St. Yohanes Bosco for poor and neglected lads. With full confidence that God has chosen him to work in his field and will always accompany him in every problem he faces."
