Anisakan, Myanmar, 26 April 2024 -- A spiritual retreat for the past pupils, under the theme of “Enriching Salesian Spirituality,” was organized by the Salesian Family Commission head, Fr John Gam Seng, SDB, from 21 to 24 April at Don Bosco Spiritual Retreat House, in Anisakan, Myanmar. The retreat preacher was a senior confrere, Fr. Eward Sein Myint, SDB. Due to the political situation, only 17 past pupils could participate in the retreat. Most retreatants are senior ones because the young ones are scattered all over the other places for their own survival and safety.
During the retreat, the preacher mainly focused on the Salesian Spirituality of ADMA, expounding the significance and importance of its existence in the vice-province. Printed copies of rule books of ADMA in Myanmar translation were also distributed to each one of the retreatants. The senior Salesian Brother Stephen Pau, SDB, enthusiastically shared about the Salesian Brother Vocation in his good night talk as well. On the third day, a senior past pupil, Mr. Philip Win Maw from Australia, shared about “Don’t sell yourself short and fundraising” through a Zoom webinar.
Just before the end of the retreat, the Superior Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi also gave a one-hour conference, thanking all the past pupils for all the accomplishments they have done for the young and encouraging them to move forward with faith and hope despite many challenges and tragedies brought about by political crises.
