Former Provincial of the Salesian Province of Don Bosco Vietnam

Thu Duc, HCM Vietnam, 6 April 2024 -- At 8:30 a.m., April 5, 2024, the Funeral Mass of Father Joseph Nguyen Van Quang, former Provincial of the Salesian Province of Don Bosco Vietnam, was held at Don Bosco Xuan Hiep Parish, Thu Duc.
The Mass had the presence of Bishop Emmanuel Nguyen Hong Son, Bishop of Ba Ria Diocese. The celebrant of the Mass was Bishop John Do Van Ngan, Bishop of Xuan Loc Diocese. Concelebrating with the Bishops were a large number of Salesians of Don Bosco, priests from the diocese, and other religious congregations. In the sermon, Father Joseph Nguyen Van Am led the community in a historical flow rich in true emotions in the relationship between God and his disciples, in which the life of Father Joseph is a story is raised as a clear demonstration of that relationship: "He must increase, and I must decrease" (John 3:30).
Before the Mass ended, Father Provincial Barnaba Le An Phong expressed his feelings of gratitude to the Bishops and the community for their presence and sharing with the Province and Fr Joseph's family during the event of Father Joseph's passing from life.
After the farewell ceremony, Father Joseph's coffin was taken to Tan Thinh Parish Cemetery, Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City, and was laid to rest.
