Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines, 5 July 2023 -- From June 28 to July 2, 2023, Don Bosco Retreat House in Lawaan, Talisay City, Cebu, served as a hub of vibrant energy and enthusiasm as the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Philippines held its second National Assembly Days (NADS). With the theme "Padayon," which translates to continue or carry on, the event aimed to reinforce the significance of the movement amidst the challenges of the new normal to foster formation, celebrate the movement's roots in Christ, promote fellowship, and plan for the next three years.
The National Assembly Days 2023 brought together 60 delegates from three Salesian provinces in the Philippines, namely Philippine North Province (FIN), Philippine South Province (FIS) and FMA Philippine Province (FIL). The event gathered SYM leaders, animators, Salesian priests, and Salesian sisters, all united by their commitment and passion for Salesian youth empowerment. Facilitating the planning process was Fr. Fidel Ma. Orendain, SDB, FIS Provincial Superior, who guided the participants all throughout the assembly days.
As the Salesian Youth Movement Philippines strides forward, it remains steadfast in its dedication to nurturing the young, guided by the values and teachings of St. John Bosco.
