Hanoi, Vietnam, 9 May 2023 -- From May 3rd to 5th, 2023, the Salesians in the North of Vietnam have spent three days evaluating the three-year plan as well as looking to the future with action lines. Father Provincial Barnabe was present, along with some of his councillors. Most of the Salesians in the North Delegation were also present, praying together at Mass as well as sharing fraternally in discussions.
During the opening Mass, the Provincial gave a reflection on God's will and ways that every Salesian must seek and discern, even though sometimes God's will is different from ours. In his Good Night Talk, he emphasized the essence and standards of the Salesian according to God's will, following the example of Don Bosco and according to the expectations of the people.
The Salesians also gave sincere and frank comments on the issues and directions of the Delegation in the future. The most important point is still to form oneself according to Don Bosco's example, and to be attentive to serving young people with the cultural characteristics of the North, as well as to missionary concern to all people in places where the Salesians are present.
The meeting ended after lunch on May 5th. Although the Salesian work in the north promises a bountiful harvest, there are still many internal and external challenges that need everyone's prayers. We pray that each Salesian in the Delegation will commit themselves strongly to serve young people, especially those who are poor and abandoned.
