The Myanmar Vice-Province Day 2022
Anisakan-Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar, 14 September 2022 -- It has been more than two years that we could not come together as a whole vice-province, due to the pandemic and critical political situations. However, with the mercy and grace of the Good Lord, on September 11 2022, almost all of the confreres were able to get together at Mary Help of Christians Shrine in Anisakan-Pyin Oo Lwin for the celebration of the vice-province day under the banner; “Bind Us Together, Lord”.
We began the day with the Holy Mass presided by our superior, Fr. NYI NYI Bosco. After the mass, there were the presentations of the communities about their missions and apostolates. And the performances of the youth from different communities followed. The most interesting thing is that each community brought gift (i.e. in cash) for the superior, and then after collecting and putting together all the gifts, the superior in turn gave it away to the neediest community as a token of financial support. It is a wonderful practice to strengthen our Salesian family in the vice-province.
In the afternoon, both Salesians and young people were gathered together for the football tournament. Even the most senior confreres were the most active supporters for their teams, shouting and cheering up their players. It really reflects the festive oratory moment that our Founder, Don Bosco ever wished for the congregation. In the evening, after the dinner, all the confreres joined the family social games in which the most senior confreres sung songs and shared their vocation-stories and Salesian life-experiences to the young confreres. It is a very beautiful moment when we listened to each other and shared our inner joy and fraternal love among ourselves.
We, in deed, give thanks to God for this special moment. And we hope and pray that we all are united with one heart and one soul in Christ who binds us together as Salesians, while being faithful to the youth mission entrusted to us by our Founder Don Bosco.
