HCM City, Vietnam, 18 July 2022 -- At 9:00 am, on the morning of July 11, 2022 at Andrew Maicen Hospitality Center, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, 22 students began their mid-course exams. It is known that over a period of 3 years, after the end of the first year of study, students will take the mid-term exam then spend time putting their skills into practice (internship) after which they take the final exam.
Out of 22 students participating in this year’s exams, 16 students majored in Kitchen and 6 students majored in Restaurant. The professors are British, German and Vietnamese. Students used English during the exam.
After the theory test, students moved on to the practical exam. This exam was very lively but no less stressful. With facilities and exam materials provided at a high standard, candidates must show confidence and courage to complete the exam under the supervision and grading of the Professors.
At exactly 16:00, the exam day ended with the overwhelming joy of the candidates after a long period of intense concentration. After this exam, they will have a few days of summer vacation and start doing internships at hotels and restaurants in Saigon.
Sharing about the atmosphere of the exam day, Father Marino Duc Huy, SDB (one of the Salesians in charge of this Center) said: “With the high professional qualifications of the professors, the qualified test conditions, along with the long-term preparation of the students, the exam day took place in a quite professional atmosphere and forced the candidates to apply all that they had learned to express themselves. Although they were quite nervous, I hope they will achieve the expected results and improve themselves.”
The Andrew Maicen Training Center is currently run by the Salesians of Don Bosco Viet Nam, to help young people get a career to build their future.
