Hsipaw, Myanamr, October 17, 2015 - Twenty five years is a remarkable length of duration which could be taken as the life span of a generation. The celebration of Silver Jubilee of the establishment of the Parish and Don Bosco Seminary of Hsipaw, Northern Shan State was celebrated on 16-17 October 2015.
"The Salesains have taken care of the Lashio Diocese from its conception as a Diocese are the benefactors of teh northern Shan State region" said Bishop Philip Za Hawng who is the local ordinary.
Don Bosco Seminary, Hispaw had verily put down seeds of vocation which are now flourishing throughout th country where ever the Salesians are serving the Church in various regions in the the service of youth. 21 priests and Two lay brothers and many other good people were born from the Seminary since its establishment.
The Jubilee was blessed by the welcoming ceremony of Bishop Philip, Fr. Charles Saw (Provincial), priests and blessing of Giacomin memorial hall. The Eucharistic procession and culture dances presentation were held in the eve of the Jubilee. The Jubilee Thanksgiving Mass was offered by His Excellency Bishop Philip and con-celebrated by 27 priests.
