Dalat, Vietnam, Oct 14 2015 - On the occasion of the Vietnamese Women’s Day, four Don Bosco boarding houses for girls in Dalat organized 2 Football Cups: ‘FOUR LADY HOUSES FOOTBALL CUP’ and ‘TERESA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE’. The competitons are highly welcomed by both male and female students.

The 'FOUR LADY HOUSES FOOTBALL CUP’ ended on Friday evening Oct 09, and the winner was the team of Lucia boarding house. The silver and bronze medals were awarded to the teams of Fatima and Teresa house. Three Don Bosco boarding houses joined in the football championship: Lucia, Fatima and Teresa. The Salesians of Dalat community were also present at the competitions to encourage the spirit of players.

The football cup for girls attracted many people to come, both boys and girls. The boy-fans cry out joyfully before the technique shots or spectacular goals of the girls.

Ms Thanh Xuan from Lucia house shares her experiences: “This is a meaningful activity for us, the students of Don Bosco. It helps to build the friendship and close relationship among Don Bosco boarding houses. It’s also an opportunity for us to meet and learn from one another”.

“Although this year we only gain the silver medals, all of us feel satisfied and joyful. We joined the game in the sportive spirit. We hope to win gold medals next year”, says Ms Huyen Khanh from Fatima house.

Fr. La minh Cuong SDB, in charge of male and female boarding houses in Dalat, says: “This activity is a real good kind of entertainment for students after the time of hard study. It’s also an opportunity for the young students to meet one another in friendship.”

Another football cup for girls is TERESA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. There will be 100 female students from 12 groups of the Salesian youth movement ‘Fire of Love’ who attend this Cup from Oct 17-25 this year. The Cup will be held at the football playground of Don Bosco Dalat formation house. Each team consists of 7 players, playing in a circle round. There will be 5 prizes for winners. This cup will begin in Oct 17 and end in Oct 24. This is also the most favoured Football Cup for all Catholic students in Dalat.
