Beppu, Japan, September 1-6, 2015 - During the recent XII General Chapter of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus was elected a new Mother General and her Council members. Three months after the loss of the former Superior General the former Mother Apollinaris Yuriko Shimura (June 2015).


The short elective General Chapter member elected the new leadership of the Congregation. The discernment process of the election was guided by Fr. Stefano Yang, SDB (provincial SDB, Korea).

  • Mother General: Sr Teresia Furuki Ryoko

  • Vicar of the Superior: Sr Ignatia Kim Yeon Ok

  • Councilor for Formation: Sr Emiliana Park Youn Sook

  • Councilor for the Missions Sr Maria Sueyoshi Junko

  • Councilors:

    • Sr Maria Tsujihara Hiromi
    • Sr Maria Letitia Ono Yuko
    • Sr Dafrosa Oh Yang Ja

The new Mother General Sr. Teresia Furuki Ryoko was for last 11 years a member of the General Council (councilor for formation) and previously also a missionary in the Philippines (Caritas Secondary School in Santa Rosa, Laguna). She is well known for her artistic talent - composing poetry and music for evangelization.


We extend the heartfelt congratulations and prayer support for the whole Congregation of Caritas Sisters of Jesus and their new Mother General and her new councillors.
