About the 29th anniversary of the arrival of Don Bosco to Cambodia, here some representative photos of this history in preparation to the 30th anniversary for next year:

On May 24, 1991, Father Valter Brigolin and Br. Roberto Panetto, Italian Salesian missioners in Thailand, arrived to the Pochengton Airport in a 45 minutes flight from Bangkok.

The first four Salesians in Cambodia (Br. Roberto Panetto, Fr. Valter Brigolin, Fr. John Visser and Br. Conrado Lagaya), opened the first technical education programs for youth from poor communities and got support to create different workshops such as electricity, welding, automotive, electronics and printing.

Thanks to all benefactors that have sent funds and equipment to make the dreams of many youth real. Here the arrival of a truck sent to Don Bosco Phnom Penh by Fr. Zuffetti of Italy.

Street children in Poipet.jpg

The Salesians have been sensitive to the realities of poverty and marginalisation. The children of Poipet have been always an interest of Don Bosco and it gave the possibility of a new presence in that city at the Thai-Cambodian border.

The Don Bosco Children Fund is the other wing of Don Bosco in Cambodia. Going to the most marginalised villages to look for children and gave to them the opportunities of a better life with the help of many benefactors, lay people and teachers.
