On Saturday, 20 June from 2 in the afternoon, the Provincial Community Day was held at the Salesian Seminariate in Chofu, Tokyo. About 50 confreres got together.
The gathering started with a presentation and comments by Fr. Shinjiro Urata on the newly published “Memoires of the Oratory” (Giovanni Bosco, commentary and annotation by Aldo Giraudo, translated and compiled by Kosuke Ishikawa and Shinjiro Urata).
During the mass, Ryohei Taniguchi, student of Theology, was appointed lector. Also, there was commemoration of the jubilees of eight confreres:
60th anniversary of ordination: Cesare Fraga (absent because of distance)
50th anniversary of ordination: John M. Vianney Kosuke Murakami
50th anniversary of religious profession: Stephen Nagaki Fujikawa, John Bosco Shigeru Suzuki
25th anniversary of ordination: Jacob Apostle Hideaki Hamaguchi
25th anniversary of religious profession: Alexander Nakamaro Abe, Francis of Assizi Atsushi Hamasaki, Joseph Yuji Nishimoto
Following the mass, there was dinner and academia in which everyone gathered enjoyed a fraternal time together.
