7 December 2018, Manaus, Brazil - The Salesian Missionary Province of Amazonia (ISMA - BMA) together with the Salesian Family, thank the Lord of the vineyard and celebrated the ordination of Fr. Joseph Trãn Thái Hoàng, SDB thought the laying of the hands and prayers of Mons. Edmilson Tadeu Canavarros, SDB, DD, Auxiliary Bishop of Manaus, at the St. Joseph Parish Church, Zona Leste, Manaus. The family of Fr. Joseph was also present.
Taking the inspiration from the Gospel of John, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5), Fr. Joseph manifests his great faith and obedience to the will of God following the example of Mary. He celebrated his first mass at the Diocesan Shrine of St. Joseph at the Provincial House complex. He will celebrate thanksgiving masses also in Vietnam.
He did his novitiate and postnovitiate formation at the Salesian province of Vietnam and expressed his availability to the missions afterwards. He arrived in Manaus in 2012 after receiving the missionary cross at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin, Italy.
