Touch green...... Touch God!

JAKARTA: 22nd June 2009 -- The Bosco Green Club, one of the many groups in the St John Bosco Parish at Sunter, held its second day trip to a village setting, Depok, a district on the outskirts of Jakarta City.
About 150 people ranging from toddlers to the elderly took part in the village experience, which consisted of activities ranging from quizzes and contest to tree planting, milking goats, harvesting vegetables and goading two oxen to plow a rice paddy!
The Bosco Green Club, led by ecology-conscious parishioners, strives to inculcate in the young a sense of respect for Mother Nature.  On this occasion, close to life forms such as animals, trees, plants, a sense of awe was invoked.  As one of the participants put it: to touch green plants it to touch God.

Others came from Paraguay, Bolivia, Brasil (BCG), India (INH), Italy IME Albania. The ordaining prelate was the Secretary for the Congregation for the Clergy, Archbishop Piacenza.
The Archbishop drew attention to the opening of the Year of the Priest, and drew on Don Bosco as a priestly model for the ordinands.  Concelebrating were at least 100 priests.  Many of the congregation were young people who have come into contact with the new deacons (all students resident at Gerini in Rome) during their pastoral ministry.
