Korea: Annual Seminar on Salesianity
SEOUL: 15th December 2008 -- The Korean Province has just held its annual winter seminar on Don Bosco for those in formation. It lasted five days, from December 11-15. each year the province holds two seminars for young Salesians. On this occasion forty four young Salesians attended together with formators from the houses of Philosophy and Theology.
The theme for this year was 'educating with the Heart of Don Bosco'. In place of the usual lecture format there were various activities and group work to learn skills and demonstrate the ability to work with the young with the heart of Don Bosco. They learned to return to the young with new skills to engage them.
The method employed was very similar to the one Salesians use in their houses to train staff and lay people. It included plenty of laughts and camaraderie! All agreed that it was quite a learning experience, and went bacl to their respective assignments with a renewed heart.
