Second Indonesian Brother perpetually professed

JAKARTA: 12th June 2007 -- Brother Baltasar Sali is the second Indonesian-born Salesian Brother to be perpetually professed.  The perpetual profession ceremony was held in the St. John Bosco Parish Church where he was for a time after his post novitiate studies.  The evening Sunday Mass for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi was presided over by Fr Andres Calleja, provincial, with 10 other concelebrants.  The Salesian Family was well represented by the Salesian Sisters, past pupils, Salesian Cooperator candidates, and parishioners who attended the evening youth Mass.  In his homily, Fr Calleja stressed the marvellous generosity and availability of someone who responds with 'forever', not just until death but beyond.
    Brother Sali hails from Kupang, capital of West Timor, a province of Indonesia.  He will complete his university studies and will soon take up his new task as formator and bursar of the post-novitiate community of Sunter, Jakarta.
    In the next few days there will be another perpetual profession in East Timor and a large number of young confreres will be renewing their temporary vows.
