Fruits of Easter joy at DBTI Boroko

BOROKO:  21st April 2006 -- At the Easter Vigil, presided over by the outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to PNG/SI, His Excellency Adolfo Tito Yllana DD, the British High Commissioner to PNG, the Hon. David Gordon McLeod received the Sacraments of Initiation.  Fr Valeriano Barbero had prepared him for the preparation of the sacraments over the past year.  Before the conclusion of the celebration Mr McLeod and his wife renewed their marriage vows before the Nuncio.  The solemn ceremony was held in the new Chapel of the Eucharist, whose opening has already been reported in these pages.
    The College also celebrated Easter Mass on the following day in a special way.  The Rector, Fr Roger Miranda, presided at the solemn celebration which included the sacramental initiation of three members of the College community, one 4th Year and two 2nd Year students.  Fr Roger and Sr. Pamela Vicina, spiritual moderator at DBTI had prepared the three students for the sacraments of initiation.  The event now raises a fervent prayer that others will take a similar step.
