"DB, I LUV YA COZ UR BAD"
(This is an entry in 'towards #1500'.  It is the second entry touching on the HIV issue)

THA: 24th March 2006 --  Yes, a province, not a place.  The writer was offering a personal experience and asked not to be identified or identifiable.  The headline shouldn't give too much of a problem to our SMS-soaked cultures, but it might be worth reading on just to get it right!
"I had just finished a Good Morning talk to the 500 plus student body yesterday.  The topic was 'how to live a life of quality'.  A few minutes later I was asked by a staff member to accompany her on a visit to a family, beneficiaries of our 'Project Support HIV Orphans'.  The mother and the four children are all HIV +.  The second child had just died, but not because of HIV, but from a high fever.  She was just 8 years of age.  She had died in the hospital less than 24 hours previously but they had brought her to the small bamboo hut surrounded by poor praying villagers showing respect but murmuring about why she should die, she was such a good girl.
But before I left the scene, the mother told me: 'Searching for Don Bosco (the project, the help) I discovered one truth.  I discovered compassion.  In the search for compassion, I discovered Don Bosco', and crying she kept repeating, 'DB, I luv ya coz you are Blessed And Divine'.  Yes, for these non-Christians Don Bosco is certainly Blessed And Divine, because he lived a quality life.  And what about us Salesians?  Is DB truly B.A.D.?"
