Manila, Tokyo, HCM, Melbourne, Bangkok: ordinations
EAO: 8th December 2005 -- #1343 has already indicated ordinations, especially to diaconate and priesthood, of confreres from the Australian Province - one diaconate ordination which took place on 4th December, one ordination to the priesthood which takes place on 9th, and others to follow in January. There is an additional ordination to the priesthood to take place in Australia, in the diocese of Sale, near Melbourne. Dominic Matthews, of Chennai, India, who completed his theological studies in Rome (Gerini, UPS), will be ordained on 31st December.
Today, 8th December, is ordination day in Manila. Six Salesians from the theologate at Parañaque will be ordained priests. Before Christmas, on 17th December in Japan, Joseph Shoichiro Nakada will be ordained priest by the Archbishop of Tokyo. He has been exercising his diaconate at Salesio Gakuin in Yokohama, after completing his studies at UPS as part of the Gerini community, Rome. Also before Christmas, four Salesians from Xuan Hiep are expected to be ordained deacon in Ho Chi Minh City. Later in January, two Thai deacons are to be ordained priest.
To all of these Salesians, named or unnamed in the above lists, austraLasia extends its congratulations.
