Past Pupils' enterprise to be especially proud of

SAN JOSE CITY (Phil): 23 September 2005 -- The sprawling metropolis known as Metro Manila contains some 17 cities, one of which is San Jose City.  The Salesians have been there since 1993, with a small community engaged in a training centre located in the Nueva Ecija area. The centre is known, obviously enough, as the Don Bosco Training Centre.  Three past pupils (in the Philippines they are called Bosconians) from the first and second batch from this training centre have now set up an Enterprise Shelter Department.  The Department has begun operation this month.
The ESD is a joint SDB-Consuelo Foundation project.  The Consuelo Foundation is the work of a Filipina, a financially well-endowed woman who inherited her fortune from her Ayala connections - another well-known name in the Philippines - and who was inspired by the words of St Teresa of the Child Jesus to make her love deeds, not just words.
The aim of the new Enterprise Shelter Development is to provide job or self-employment for skilled and experienced past pupils of the Don Bosco Training Centre who have undergone further specialised training in the Makati or Mandaluyong Training Centres, as well as having job experience with Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi.
The Shelter provides services in the following trades: automotive, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical, welding, carpentry.  The old automotive workshop was adapted for the purposes of the new Shelter.  Further information can be sought from
