Mid-August ordinations for EAO: Indonesia, Timor, Cambodia (Colombia)

JAKARTA: 29th August 2005 --  The 14th and 15th August in two very different parts of the world, saw ordinations for four Salesians who are either from the East Asia Oceania region or are working within it: Fr Matius Sujantoro from Indonesia, Frs. Acasio Domingos de Castro and Jose Agusto Caetano from Timor Leste, and Fr Reinaldo Albeiro Rodas Torres from from Colombia (Bogota').
The Archdiocese of Jakarta was the location for the three ordinations from ITM, and the Archdiocese of Bogota' for the other.  For the three ITM men the ordination was held in the Parish Church of St. John Bosco at Sunter, Jakarta, the ordaining prelate being Cardinal Julius Darmaatmadja SJ or Jakarta.  No fewer than 120 priests from the Archdiocese concelebrated for the occasion, which also saw the ordination of three Franciscans and one diocesan priest.  Precise details of Fr Albeiro's ordination in Colombia are not to hand at present.
All four Salesian ordinandi were students of theology at Cremisan and then Ratisbonne, Jerusalem. Some time in October, Fr. Albeiro will return to his mission field in Cambodia.  Back In ITM, Fr Matius will be with the pre-novices in Tigaraksa, while Frs Acasio and Jose Agusto will be assigned to Fuiloro and Fatumaca respectively.
August has been a grace-filled month for EAO - not only August; a number of earlier ordinations for the region have already been reported in austraLAsia, as well as first and final professions, and there are more of the latter to come in September!
