Cambodia: Empowering Students thru Basics in Agriculture and Husbandry

PHNOM PENH: 12 December 2004 -- Don Bosco Technical School Phnom Penh, Cambodia - a home and school for many orphaned and poor youth of the country- launched new agro technologies with a special training course on “Empowering students in Agriculture and Husbandry Basics” from 15 November to 13 December 2004. The course was offered for eighteen students under the expertise of Dr. Walter Zwick of the Senior Expert Service (SES) of Bonn, Germany. It was intended to initiate an agricultural training course for the students in order to become an extension service to farmers of the school’s neighborhood. Above all, it is an assurance of FAITH (Food Always In The Home) with increased production in vegetables, fruits, eggs, chickens, pigs and fish for the 420 students, 120 teachers, instructors and support personnel. Four Salesians administer the school. The SES program was made possible through the support of the Salesian Missions Office, Bonn, Germany.
