Vietnam: ordination of one Salesian priest and four deacons
HO CHI MINH CITY: 11th December '04 -- Today, 11th December, the priestly ordination of Fr Vincent Thanh Trung took place at the Provincial House, Xuan Xiep, HCM. The ordaining Bishop was Joseph Hoang Van Tiem SDB, Bishop of the Bui DIocese. In addition to the priestly ordination of Fr Trung, four other young Salesians were ordained Deacon.
This ordination event marks an interesting change in that it appears to have been a much more open event, celebrated at the Provincial House in Xuan Xiep, in contrast to previous ordinations which have been celebrated in the small chapel at the theologate.
Newly ordained Fr Trung has been the bursar of the community at K'long-Duc Trong.
