NEW RESOURCE: BIBLIOGRAPHIES OF SALESIAN STUDIES IN ENGLISH

ROME: 2nd November -- At last!  A set of bibliographies which many English-speaking Salesians will find useful.  The result of work over several years by Frs. Mike Mendl (US) and Bernard Grogan (UK), and now available on Bosconet, the complete set of bibliographies includes the following:
*  A general bibliography of works on Don Bosco.
*  Basic primary resources for Salesian Studies - this file contains a bibliography of the documents emanating from the Salesian General House in Rome.  Obviously it needs to be constantly updated.
*  RSS-JSS: two files in fact, with all the works in English referenced in RSS (Richerche Storiche Salesiane).  Separate references are given for articles or works referenced there but belonging to other journals, e.g. Journal of Salesian Studies.
* The titles of all Letters of Rectors Major from 1965-2002.  The letters of Fr. Vigano are already available through Bosconet.  All letters from AGC 350 onwards are in  fact on disk and are gradually being added to the Rome Web Portal www.sdb.org
All five files are available in a single zipped file on Bosconet.  They make a precious addition to efforts across the Salesian English-speaking world to make as much material available as possible, especially for Salesian Studies courses, but also for all confreres who wish to find material.  Of course, once an item is located in the bibliography, the next step is to find it!  Provinces or publishers are only too willing to help, naturally.
It is a long-term aim of the Web Portal (Rome) to make such bibliographies available in five languages, and to extend beyond the above list to other works either published by Salesian publishers or by Salesians with other publishers.
If the above hyperlink does not work, go to http://www.bosconet.aust.com and select Bibliogrpahic Details under Bosconet Special Services.
