UPDATES TO BOSCONET

SUVA: 2nd August -- Given other matters which have been consistently
reported in Bosconet of late, I had let the Website slip a little.  Power
cuts here have now become endemic to life and unpredictable, so most upload
attempts beyond a few minutes have been hazardous at best.  But I took a
chance yesterday and won!
BOSCONET now has a fresher, cleaner, leaner look - but no less 'meaty' I
hope in terms of substance.  May I ask for some ways in which this website
could serve you better?  After many years now of running websites, I realise
that most people do not consult the same website daily, even if it is
interactive.  They might pop in every month or so just to check if something
has changed - or they will go searching for material they want.
What can BOSCONET offer the casual or regular visitor?
1.  SALESIAN material in English: there are not a lot of places you can find
both primary (translated) and secondary (developed) Salesian resources in
English.  Bosconet is one where you can track down quite an amount.  I would
like to add to it.  Do you have stuff sitting on your hard disk that could
be put at the service of others?  If so you can either send it to me or
indicate a URL where I can direct others via Bosconet.
2.  SPIRITUALITY AND PASTORAL ANIMATION: Two sites developed in Australia by
practising Salesian educators.  Bosconet links to them but does not run
them...however I can easily ask their webmaster to incorporate your material
if you have some of interest.
3.  EMAIL (SDB and some FMA).  Nobody can claim to have every Salesian email
address - and besides addresses change so often, but Bosconet keeps a
moderately up-to-date list of many SDB email addresses around the world.
Feel free at any time to advise me of new ones (I'd get two or three pieces
of advice a month on average)or of changes, including necessary deletions.
It is a service I can only provide if correctly advised.
4.  The complete set of 'austraLasia' newsletters.  Now just shy of the
400th edition, these provide a snapshot of the Asia-Pacific region over a
four year period and even in terms of archival resources for the Salesian
history of the region they are invaluable.  But if you needed to look back
over a particular 'thread' of news - then this is the place to go.
5.  Links to as many Salesian websites as I have information about.  Again,
I wish to add to these.  Simply let me know the URL and I will do so.
6.  INTERACTIVE site in e-Xchange:  it's an interesting little place to
go people pop in from all over the world to find out something about
someone, pass a comment, change an address and so on.  Go in occasionally
just to look what's happening.

If you ask for it, I can probably see that it happens.  Over to you.
