BOSCONET TO BE OVERHAULED AND RENEWED

1st Jan '00 -- After serving the Salesian world for a decade, BOSCONET is in

need of review and revamp! From all accounts it has served well, witnessed

by the number of Salesians from different provinces around the world who

visit, and who write in with information, comment, requests. Very often

BOSCONET is a clearinghouse, a search mechanism (hesitate to call it any sort

of engine) for people looking for something on Salesian spirituality, or just

seeking the address of a Salesian.

BOSCONET will remain substantially the same in content, but will try to adapt

within the limits of the webmaster's technological know-how to a more

web-based world than when it began 10 years ago. BOSCONET will also remain

essentially English-language but with many links to Salesian sites from other

regions, cultures and languages. It is impossible, I have discovered, to be

all things to all people - in the way they would like it to be.

It will take the month of January to bring about this overhaul. In the

meantime, if there is something specific you would like to see on BOSCONET,

some service that can be offered that is not being offered, or offered in a

more attractive way, please let me know. I aim to please where possible!

Now of course if someone would dearly love to be at the heart of the

enterprise and actually help me accomplish things that I could not do unaided

- then rush forward with offers, please! You do not have to be marooned on a

Pacific atoll to be part of this exciting enterprise, just willing, wherever

you are based, to give it a little time.
