TAIWAN EARTHQUAKE: NO SALESIAN CASUALTIES

HONG KONG: 23rd Sep -- after trying to contact our confreres in Taiwan over

the phone for the

whole day we were finally reached by Fr. Matthew King, Rector of our house

in Taipei, who announced that there have been no casualties among our

confreres and collaborators nor has there been any damage to our houses

(Taipei, Tainan, Chaochou).

The epicentre was in Nantou County: there we "had" a very active group of

Cooperators in a non-Salesian parish. The group was disbanded by the present

parish priest. Unfortunately we know nothing about them. Let us at least

keep them in our prayers.
