Easter Octave with wonderful sakura spring background

By Fr. Mario Yamanouchi, SDB

Hamamatsu, Japan, 24 April 2017 -- During a wonderful spring period of full splendid sakura period near the lake Kawaguchi at the foot of the Mt Fuji was held the ever first spiritual retreat of 40 members coming from two Japan ADMA groups (Tokyo, 2010 and Hamamatsu 2012) after the start of ADMA in Japan. The retreat was animated by the ADMA spiritual guide Fr. Angel Yamanouchi and the Provincial. Another Salesian helped with confessions in other languages (Fr. Dong Tan Hien in Vietnamese and Fr. Ambrosio da Silva in Portuguese and English) and Sr. Teresita Matsumoto as FMA delegate for ADMA.

During the retreat we celebrated the promise of 23 new ADMA members from Hamamatsu group: 9 Brasilian, 7 Japanese, 5 Peruvian and 2 Filipinas. We were also happy with the presence of large number of posible candidates of different national background who are interested to become future ADMA members.

The promise of 23 new members was started with the prayer of the Rosary anímated by the Tokyo group in 3 languages (Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish) animated by short meditations of Fr. Angel about Mary as model of Christian discipleship. Then followed the confession time. In the spiritual climate of the Pentecost the 23 new members pronounced the promise and the Eucharistic blessing confirmed once more the witnessing commitment of the ADMA members in the Japan society as disciples of Jesus. Then followed the fraternal agape.

Testimony of Faith through the mediation of Venerable Fr. Vicente Cimatti

The following day there was a community Eucharist in the Salesian parish, presided by Fr. Provincial in Japanese and animation in another 3 different languages.

After the Mass we listen to two testimonials. One was shared by young Japanese-Brasilian who was healed from cáncer through the intercession of Mons. Cimatti. Few months ago he was a victim of ancar accident and was in coma after a strong impact on his brain and backbone he was inconscious without being able to open his eyes. After invoking the intercession of Don Cimatti he start to open slowly his mouth and eyes, start to speak and even slowly walk. After three months according the witness of Doctor Nakamura (member of Hamamatsu ADMA since 2015) ‘the medical doctors we could only offer some medication but the rest was done by God.”

And Fr. Angel Yamanouchi gave to Mr Itoh, father of this young man, a small relic with the inscription of Mons. Cimatti. However in the hospital it took a long negotation until the family was able to collocate this relic on his neck. During this happening the faith of Mr. Itoh did grew as the one of Doctor Moritaka Nakamura. Hopefully we could present one day this miracle officially with more details.

Witnessing community to the Risen Lord

During past 7 years ADMA did grow in the spiritual communion in it’s Salesian and ecclesian sense of belonging and in the service to the poor. Mary become more and more for the members a model of faith and hope, in front of any posible challenge and as model of service to others in the Salesian way. Especially the Hamamatsu ADMA group composed of various culture, language and nationalities offers a rich experience of fraternity and witness in the service to the poor homeless, immigrants children and youth who struggle with the Japanese language and with the agressive sects and other religious groups attactking the Catholic Church in the globalized society.
