Gabutu, PNG, 1 December 2016 -- A lively and energetic Carol Fest was held to conclude the Academic year for the students of Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu on 1st December, 2016.

Each class dressed in red, white or green, creatively presented a Christmas message through song, mime and dance. The Christmas story was portrayed in different ways. Rhythm and harmony of 11 Zatti were at its best as they sang ‘The Drummer boy’. They were the overall winners of the singing competition. 9 Besucco stood second and 11 Srugi stood third. The female staff sang Adeste Fideles, O come all ye faithful, Hark the Herald and Angles we have heard on high, under the baton of Rica Lavilla. They received a thunderous applause. Creative and entertaining party games were interspersed between the items.

“This Carol Fest has given us the opportunity to recall to mind the Christmas Story as we entertain ourselves. However, we need to reflect and take home the message of Christmas”, said Fr. Angel as be thanked the students at the end of the program.

A grand meal followed as each class celebrated the end of the academic year. After returning everything to its proper place and a clean-up, the students received their report cards. They now commence their holidays determined to avoid bad companions, be of help and assistance to their parents and guardians at home and use their holidays to spread the message of hope, love, joy and peace to their friends and families this Christmas.

The staff will have their Christmas celebration on the 2nd December to conclude the Academic Year and bid farewell to Fr. Roger Miranda, Fr Ambrose Pereira and members of the staff who will be leaving the school.
