Don Bosco Past Pupils

EAO, 26 June 2016 -- Formation for the SDB Delegates (DB Past pupils)

The largest - most numerous group of the Salesian Family is without doubt the Don Bosco Past Pupils Association, born as a sing of gratitude to their Father and Teacher on June 24th. Minimum of 100.000 active members around the world.

As the Rector Major does point in the Introduction to their renewed 'Statutes' (December 2015): .... 'the education you have received in the past cannot remain a mere memory; you have to turn it into a force that draws the Past Pupils along with it, to influence the world, transforming it and making it more human'.

Among the not much visible, but very important fruits of the 8 years of animation service of the outgoing World Delegate Fr. Jose Pastor to the World Confederation of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, is the formation commitment. Last week was handed to the Rector Major the 502 pages large 'Itinerario Formativo 2009-2016'. This rich compendium of 10 main themes useful for the Formation of SDB Delegates and the Leadership of the DB Alumni is published in Italian and Spanish:

The 'Itinerario formativo 2009-2016' edited by Fr. Jose Pastor during his 8 years of ministry to the World Confederation of Don Bosco Past Pupils is available in www.bosco.link

Fr. Pastor returns back to his home province the 'Antilles' in Dominican Republic. His passionate commitment for the animation and formation is very much appreciated. Now we earnestly wait for his successor to accompany the dynamic World (Confederal) Presidency of the Association.
