Lysterfield, Australia, April 1, 2016 - The 20th Provincial Chapter of the Australian-Pacific Province was brought to a conclusion.
The first two sessions of this final day focused on discussion of the various proposals that had been submitted for consideration, either from confreres and communities before the Chapter, or had emerged from the discussions during the Chapter.
Then time was given to discussion and finalisation of the two key documents that had been prepared in response to the request of the Vicar of the Rector Major; one on the ‘implementation of GC 27’ and the other on the ‘dimensioning of the Salesian presences’.
Both of these documents try to capture the key issues that face the Province and the set a direction for the coming years which will provide both challenge and opportunity as we continue to be ‘Radical Witnesses to the Gospel’ in our very diverse, far-flung and multicultural province.
The Chapter concluded with the celebration of Eucharist presided over by the Provincial, Fr Greg Chambers and a celebratory meal during which we thanked God for his continuing blessings on the province, and each other wonderful way in which we continue to bring the message of the Gospel, under the inspiration of Don Bosco the young in our vast province.
