Manila, Philippines, 4 March 2016 – The Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime, SDB, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 (NAIA2) today, March 4, 2016 at 7:35pm to visit both the Philippine- North (FIN) and Philippine-South (FIS) Provinces and to be present at the East-Asia Oceania (EAO) Region Provincials’ Meeting in Don Bosco-Batulao from March 7 to 11. He arrived with Fr. Horacio Lopez, SDB, the Secretary of the Rector Major, and Fr. Vaclav Klement, SDB, the EAO Regional Superior.
Fr. Paul Bicomong, SDB, the Provincial Superior of the FIN Province, together with his Council and Heads of the different Provincial Commissions, gave a warm welcome to the Rector Major at the NAIA2 Presidential Lounge, thanks to Mr. Angel Honrado, the NAIA General Manager, and thanks to Fr. Armand Robleza, SDB who facilitated the accommodation.
From the NAIA2, everybody proceeded to Don Bosco Technical Institute, Makati City where the Salesians were eagerly waiting for the Rector Major’s coming. The Rector Major was so happy in meeting all the confreres who just finished their FIN Sports Festival Championship games.
After the warm exchanges of fraternal greetings, the Rector Major took dinner and gave a Good Night Talk to everyone with Fr. Vaclav as his translator.
After a very casual and informal dinner with the confreres, Fr. Paul led the Rector Major, Fr. Horacio, and Fr. Vaclav to the Blessed Zatti Infirmary to visit Fr. Pepe Reinoso. He gave Fr. Pepe a short message and his blessing. From there, the group was led to the Provincial House where they will stay until March 6.
Tomorrow will be a big day as the Rector Major is scheduled to meet the FIN Provincial Council, and the Salesians in the morning, and the Salesian Family in the afternoon.
