Dili, Timor-Leste, 4 June 2024 -- After four days of prayer and reflection, the thirty-three chapter members of the Salesian Vice-Province of Timor-Leste and other representatives from the Salesian Family and Salesian Youth Movement finally concluded the third Provincial Chapter on 31 May 2024.
The concluding Mass was presided over by Fr Agostinho Soares, sdb. Before the final blessing, TLS Provincial, Fr Anacleto Pires, sdb thanked the Moderator, Fr João Boavida, sdb, the secretariat team, the Chapter members, and the representatives. The Chapter members and the representatives were doing their best to contribute to the theme of General Chapter 29, “Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people: Living our Salesian vocation faithfully and prophetically”.
Besides the final contribution, the Chapter members were also able to finalize and approve some deliberations from the recommendations of the Extraordinary visitor, Fr Joseph Phuoc, sdb, the EAO Regional Councillor. In this provincial chapter, Fr Plácido Freitas, sdb was elected as the TLS Delegate for the GC29. Let us continually thank God and pray for the successful, fruitful, and meaningful preparations from all over the Salesian world for the coming of the 29th General Chapter.
