Sumba – Indonesia, 26 May 2024 -- The month of May is a special month for the Salesian Family throughout the world. Why is that? Because there are many special and interesting activities carried out by the Salesian Family, and especially for the Salesian Community of Sumba, there are many activities in the month of May. There are various activities and events for the Don Bosco Sumba Salesian community, including Floriñas, the feast of St. Dominikus Savio, creative Rosary, sermonette, novena, and as the culmination of our activities is the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians, which falls on 24 May.
Right at its peak, namely on 24 May, the Salesian Family of Don Bosco held a very feast. In this feast, the statue of the Virgin Mary was paraded around the Don Bosco Sumba Salesian Community and its final destination was at the Sumba SDB Community chapel while accompanied by the Rosary and Marian songs. After that, it continues with a Eucharist Celebration led by the main concelebrant, the SDB Sumba Community Rector, Father Ignatius Hariyanto, SDB.
The celebration was attended by students, Bosconians, and hundreds of Catholics from various regions.
We hope that by devoting ourselves to Our Lady, our faith will be strengthened so that our lives will become increasingly holy and useful for everyone.
