HCM, Vietnam, 11 April 2024 -- On the morning of April 7, 2024, Salesian Youth Ministry Vietnam organized a retreat day for Salesian Aspirants at the Provincial House, Thu Duc, HCM City.
Attending the program was Father Provincial, Barnabas Le An Phong, priests in the Provincial House, priests in charge of vocation centers, other confreres, and about 150 Aspirants from 5 vocation centers: Don Bosco Ben Cat, Don Bosco Can Tho, Don Bosco Da Lat, Don Bosco Xuan Hiep and Don Bosco Nong Vu in the North.
At 8:00 a.m., everyone came to the hall to listen to Father Barnabas share the identity of the Salesians of Don Bosco and what was needed during this period.
At 10:30, Father Barnabas presided over the Mass on the Second Sunday of Easter. Concelebrating with him were Father Economer Nicolas Kieu Long Ho, the priest in charge of the Youth Ministry, Father Peter Nguyen Viet Quang Minh, and those in charge of Vocation Centres. In the homily, Father Peter shared the idea of joy. “Joy is complete when we feel that God loves us,” he said.
After Mass, everyone shared a friendly meal together. During the meal, the Aspirants performed performances to interact with everyone.
After lunch, the Aspirants divided into groups to discuss the issues raised by the Father Provincial.
At 2:00 p.m., there was a sports exchange between groups. At the end of the program, Father Peter gave a few words of advice and gave a blessing to the groups.
