East New Britain, 16 October 2023 -- Don Bosco Rapolo Technical Secondary School held its 30th commencement day on Sunday, 22 October 2023. A hundred and eighty-three students from Grade 12 and the four trades Electrical, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Machine fitting and Maintenance, and Carpentry and Building Construction graduated. The day began with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the school rector, Fr. Moise Paluku, SDB. Speaking to the graduates, Fr. Moise remarked, “Our world is competitive today in all aspects. You need to be the leaven of today’s society. It is not an easy task to be a change-maker, and creating anything meaningful takes time”. On behalf of the graduates, Neville encouraged his fellow graduates, “Let us carry with us the spirit of being leaven. Let us be the force that lifts society to new heights, that brings people together, and that leaves a lasting, positive mark on the world.” At the end, Fr. Moise thanked the graduates for their trust and support. He made mention of the invited guests, in a special way, Mr. Alkan Mararang, the Provincial Education Adviser, Dame Sandra Lau, Ms Bellie Gutierez, and other benefactors who sponsored the graduation awards. The graduation concluded with a family lunch by the graduates.
