The evening celebration linked up with the whole-day adoration of the Blessed Sacrament that takes place every Thursday in St John Bosco Parish. At 6 pm, Parish Pastor Fr Edgar Andrew Carbon presided over the sung Vespers of the Feast before the Blessed Sacrament exposed.
After this a family agape supper was offered to the 30-odd participants in the parish basement, Savio Hall.
At 7:30 the Rosary, animated by various members of the Salesian Family, was recited Salesian-style walking up and down the covered playground on the ground-floor of the parish building.
About half an hour of silent adoration of the Blessed Sacrament followed this, concluded by half an hour of animated adoration. This included Eucharistic hymns, the reading of the day’s Gospel (Jesus the Good Shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep), the reading of the last letter of Don Callisto Caravario to his mother, and prayer for vocations of the Salesian Family.
The 3-hour celebration concluded with Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament and the Good Night given by Fr Rector, who distributed the 5 reminders of Saint Luigi Versiglia to his missionaries, a timely reminder that all members of the Salesian Family are missionaries of Jesus’ Gospel to this world burning with thirst for justice, mercy, and peace.
