One Father-One Family: Salesian Mission Day 2021
World, 25 January 20210 -- Since 1988 the Salesian Congregation has invited the whole Salesian Family to celebrate the annual 'Salesian Mission Day' (SMD) with a concrete theme and abundant animation materials. For the current year the theme is in line with the RM's Strenna 'Moved by Hope' - One Father - One Family': Missionary Solidarity as Initial Proclamation of Jesus Christ.
From last week all digital quality animation materials are at your finger tips: introduction by the Rector Major and the Missions Councillor (Fr Alfred Maravilla), background of the SMD tradition and this specific 2021 SMD, motivation by a large number of Jesus' disciples: Pope Francis, Bishop Luc Van Looy SDB, Holy Childhood Association, Fr Martin Lasarte (lectio divina), Marco Fulgaro (mission desk-RMG), Fr George Menamparampil, Heroes and Martyrs during Covid19 times, and Venerable Mathilde Salem, ASC.
As is the case each year the full animation package includes the following items, all available online and now already on the way from Rome to the 90 SDB provinces around the world:
* An attractive poster (available in hi-resolution, 82 MB)
* Prayer card in 6 main SDB world languages (ENG included)
* Animation booklet (56 pages, A5 format)
* SMD 2021 project (South Sudan, Gumbo-Caritas Sisters of Jesus Clinic)
* Animation videos (Youtube - from four continents)

- AFRICA - flows of solidarity during difficult times
- SOUTH ASIA - union of hearts thousands of kilometers away
- AMERICA - inclusive love of the Father at the peripheries
- EAST ASIA - Salesian family comes together to serve
The whole package of SMD 2021 is a strong invitation to promote missionary solidarity among children, young people, families and Salesians of Don Bosco by Prayer (11th of the month - Cagliero11), Collection-fundraising, Missionary Witness and Missionary Vocation.

O God, Father of all
the mission of your Son,
to all peoples of the world
creates in us a real passion.
How can we not speak of the grace
your Spirit bestows on us?
How can we keep the joy of your friendship
only for ourselves?
May our prayers, sacrifices,
and solidarity for people most in need
enlightened and inspired
by our faith in Jesus your Son,
proclaim to all peoples of the whole world that we form one family,
and that you care for each one of us.
Bless everyone with your holy Name
that your light may shine
over the whole world.
