Patroness of Two Groups of the Salesian Family: The Sisters of the Queenship of Mary Immaculate and The Institute of the Daughters of the Queenship of Mary

Bangkok, Thailand, 22 August 2020 -- 22 August 2020 was the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Two groups - members of the Salesian Family in Thailand have the Universal Queen as their patroness: The Sisters of the Queenship of Mary Immaculate (SQM) and The Institute of the Daughters of the Queenship of Mary (DQM). These two groups were founded by the Servant of God - Father Carlo della Torre, the Italian salesian missionary. He passed away on 4 April 1982, and is presently in the process of beatification and canonization.
In the morning, each group celebrated the Holy Eucharist and the feast in their respective community.
The distinctive trait of these two groups is their love and special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Each member considers herself as the daughter of the Blessed Mother and strive to live faithfully after Her example. The two groups work to sow the good news under the leadership of Mary, the Queen, in the midst of the brethren of other religions. They also give special importance to the education of the poor youth, together with the local church.
At present, Sr. Pranee Kamphoot is the superior of the Sisters of the Queenship of Mary Immaculate. This group has 7 communities, with 30 members. They are present in the dioceses of Bangkok, Surat Thani and Ubon Ratchathani.
The Institute of the Daughters of the Queenship of Mary has Sr. Kaesorn Chaikaew as their superior. The group has 10 communities, with 40 members. They are present in the dioceses of Bangkok, Surat Thani, Ratchaburi, Nakorn Ratchasima and Udon Thani.
