Rector Major reached out the prenovices of Sumba via internet

Jakarta, Indonesia, 7 Febryary 2018 -- The animation visit of the Rector Major Fr. Angel Fr. Artime in the Delegation of Indonesia will make a history for many reasons. One of the most beautiful witnesses is the presence of 100% of the Indonesia confreres with the 10th Successor of Don Bosco for two days in Jakarta Delegation House - Wisma Don Bosco. All 54 Indonesia confreres and 12 novices are listening and interacting with the Rector Major for two full days. It's amazing reality, given the large geographical distances among the archipelago communities.
In the morning of February 7, after the morning prayer and the breakfast the Rector of Sumba community, Fr. Adie Prianto was able to get online the only remaining Salesians in Sumba (Fr. Jose Augusto from Timor Leste) and our 8 prenovices who missed the personal meeting with the Rector Major in distant Jakarta (1700 km). In spite of the low internet connectivity in this poor island.
During the few minutes online dialogue Fr. Angel greeted the prenovices, asked about their vocation health and at the end imparted the Blessing of Mary Help of Christians to all of them. All with the help of our Sumba community cook's IPad and the Rector's cellphone in Jakarta.
We pray for new vocation to the Salesian family in Indonesia and for their formators who help them to discern the call of God, their inner motivations and how to make the first steps in Don Bosco life-style!
