Happy Feast day - and a request for prayers

ROME: 15th August 2008 -- Not a 'news' item as such, just a special wish for a happy Feast Day for the Assumption, and subsequently on 16th for Don Bosco's birthday.  On this occasion the Rector Major finds himself at home in Rome, and spoke warmly this evening to the handful of members of the Pisana community (who are not on holidays) of the place that Mary played in Don Bosco's life.  Incidentally, if you wish to see an extraordinary view of the Pisana, take a look at the latest FOCUS on sdb.org.  It is a 'FOCUS' with a difference, and is the work of a prominent member of the EAO Region, Brother Hilario Seo (KOR) who is webmaster.  Hilario is an expert photographer with as much artistic skill as he has technical ones.
Could we also use the occasion of the Feast Day to pray for members of the Region who are seriously ill: Fr Jospeh Thuc VIE - cancer of liver and spine; Bro Bernard Fontanilla FIN - kideny problem; Fr Ian Murdoch AUL - cancer of the pancreas; Fr Joseph Nopphorn THA - stomach cancer. Perhaps there are others, but these are the names that have reached austraLasia over the past weeks.  jbf.
