Fr Lenti's books now being made available for the Region

ROME: 28th November 2007 -- A note from Fr Aldo Giraudo, of the Don Bosco Studies Centre at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome, indicates that the first volume of the series Don Bosco, History and Spirit, dealing with 'Don Bosco's Formative Years in Historical Context', is now available in an edition sold from Bangalore, as well as from LAS, Rome.  360 copies have been made available of this first volume, and very shortly 360 copies of the second volume dealing with the 'Birth and Early Development of Don Bosco's Oratory', will also be available.
The price of these Bangalore editions will be considerably less than the €15 required for the LAS edition. If you wish to have a copy, enquiries should be made as soon as possible to:
Fr Anchukandam Thomas
Kristu Jyoti College, Bangalore 560 036 India
email: anchusdb@sify.com

The third volume of the series, 'Don Bosco Educator, Spiritual Master, Writer and Founder of the Salesian Society', has already been consigned to the publishers and drafts for correction are already being read.  It is hoped the remaining four of the series will be published in the course of 2008.
The entire series is a 'must' for anyone who wishes to know and understand Don Bosco in historical context more thoroughly.  Fr Lenti has been at Don Bosco Berkeley since 1975, and since 1984 has been the lead instructor at the Institute of Salesian Spirituality there. In addition to the series spoken of above, Fr Lenti has also recently published Don Bosco, his Pope and his Bishop (cf. austraLasia #1579 - and for further information on Fr Lenti and his publications, go to sdl.sdb.org austraLasia collection and run a simple search on 'Lenti', where you currently should find 8 items).
