Salesian Bulletin - English editions - online - in general

ROME:  12th May 2005 --  Occasionally we receive requests for information about the Salesian Bulletin: how many editions there are, in what languages, how many available in English, how many online, who to contact.  Here is a brief run-down on most of those questions with some useful contact details.
    IN GENERAL
The Salesian Bulletin (it sometimes goes under a different name, e.g. Don Bosco Today, in the UK) comes out in at least 52 editions.  The number varies slightly upwards from year to year depending on local circumstances in some difficult parts of the world.  There are also several Salesian publications which people commonly refer to as the Salesian Bulletin, but which are not in fact the SB: Catholic Life in Japan, for example, and Dan Chua (Vietnamese) in Australia.  Of the 52 or so editions, 8 are in English while several others are bilingual including English - Carrefour Salésien in Canada, for example. Readers may be interested to know that there is a Russian edition of the SB as well, now in its second year of publication.
    SB IN EAO REGION
There are 5 editions of the Salesian Bulletin in the EAO region: Australia, China, Korea, Philippines and Thailand.  Just two of those are regularly in English: Australia and Philippines.
    SB IN ENGLISH WORLDWIDE
Other than the two mentioned above for the region, other English editions of the SB include: SB East Africa, based in Nairobi; SB India, based in Chennai, Don Bosco Today, the UK; SB Ireland, Don Bosco Alive, US East; and SB US West.
