Dear Confreres of the Australasian Region,

Greetings and good wishes!

The 28th of January, 1998, feast of St Thomas Aquinas, marks the 50th

anniversary of the Religious Profession of our Rector Major.

As far as I know, no external celebrations are planned, at least not

immediately. It is an occasion however to thank the Lord for the gift of

Fr

Juan E. Vecchi to the Salesian Congregation and to pray for his ministry

of

animation and government of the entire Society. It is also an occasion

to

congratulate and thank him for the 50 years of fidelity and dedicated

service to the Salesian charism and mission.
