Social Communication Formation starts in the Novitiate

Tigaraksa: 24th January 2005 --- After the usual conferences and morning sessions, the 10 Novices, with their Novice Master (Fr. Andre Delimarta SDB) and their Brother assistant went off to spend several hours in a commercial printing press.  The objective was to familiarize themselves with the processes involved in print media.
While ITM is not yet into a full-time printing/publishing apostolate, there are many opportunities in Jakarta and even in Dili to have contact with printers and groups that evangelise through the printed media. Having a short course on the processes involved in colour printing and other kinds of printing works, contributes to their formation in the area of social communication.
Choosing the feastday of St. Francis of Sales for this formative event, makes it more significant. Moreover, they took the opportunity to also visit a company that produces audio cassettes, which, by chance, was preparing cassettes for Valentines Day. Hopefully the novices took the love theme as part of the loving-kindness exemplified in St. Francis de Sales.
