Lawaan, Cebu, the Philippines, 31 May 2024 -- The Don Bosco Youth Center Lawaan recently presented a thought-provoking academy on 22 May entitled “D(AMGO): A dream that makes you dream”. This musical was presented in commemoration of the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians and the 200th year of Don Bosco’s Dream at Nine Years of Age. This compelling production centered around a young boy, Jonas, who repeatedly dreams about Saint John Bosco and his at nine. Despite his efforts to share these vivid dreams to his family, he finds himself misunderstood and dismissed. As his frustration grows, he then begins to stray away from the virtuous path, succumbing to vices and losing his way in life.

As Jonas feels that his life is falling apart, Mecie, a compassionate young girl, introduces to him the concept of seeking guidance and solace from Mary. She assures him that Mary is always there for him, no matter what the circumstances are. Her words resonated deeply with him, which led him to a path of redemption and inner peace. Inspired by Mecie’s devotion, Jonas begins to embrace a life of faith and devotion, finding strength in Mary’s presence. This transformation rekindles his relationship with his family, allowing them to finally see and believe the significance of his dreams.

The musical play “D(AMGO): A dream that makes you dream” illustrated by the Don Bosco Youth Center Lawaan beautifully. The impact of believing in one’s dreams and the power of maintaining faith, even when faced with different obstacles in life.
